Fr Benedict's 50th with Archbishop Dolan

Father's Day this past Sunday I watched Fr Benedict Groeschel's "Sunday Night Live" on EWTN...it was his 50th jubilee anniversary of being a priest....Much to my surprise, he had a special guest speaker Archbishop Timothy Dolan....well I was glued to the t.v. ... Now every week Fr Benedict is very captivating...but this week he was "upstaged" by another man of the cloth who is very charismatic....Don't know where he was before New York (wait...my son tells me Milwaukee and St Louis)...this holy archbishop will be in New York for many years to come if God wills and if New York is lucky....I hope people were able to see this program...it was well worth the hour...I do hope that I get a chance to see Abp Dolan again soon.... I think all the priests should take a page from the good archbishop's book.

Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks

I haven't written in a week.....hope this will get a response.....

Dunkin' Donuts vs. Starbucks.....I don't think there is any comparison.....DD wins hands down.....taste and price-wise......I enjoy a good cup of black coffee....but I do like ice coffee once in a while with cream and Splenda.....its like having a sinful dessert.....

OK.....any thoughts???

McCain's pick for VP

Today was full of surprises.....John McCain didn't pick the two front runners that I thought he would....thought maybe Mitt Romney or the governor of Minnesota....instead he picked a woman who was mayor and now governor of Alaska.....a woman that has her hands full with 5 children.....Sarah Palin....it could be a wise move or it could be the worst mistake of his life....on the one hand there's Obama who is a "new face" and now we have Sarah Palin on the Republican side who is a "new face".....McCain and Biden have been around the block....does Sarah Palin's being a woman help??? Some politicians say we need CHANGE....maybe the change we need is a woman VP???

On to the convention(Monday)!!

Robert Frost (favorite poems)

I don't read much poetry....but I like Robert Frost....I've been to the Robert Frost Museum in Franconia, NH.....and there's a poem that Robert Frost did "The Road Not Taken".....and when we were at the Robert Frost Museum there was a Professor Cook....who was a Professor at Dartmouth.....and he recited a few of Robert Frost's poems....and the one that attracted me was "In a Glass of Cider"....Life is all about grabbing the bubbles.....

Again, I don't read much poetry.....but these two I enjoy....
